Terms and Conditions

1. Introduction

Evolve Talking Therapies provides therapeutic services including counselling, hypnotherapy, and grief support coaching to individuals seeking emotional, psychological, or behavioural support. By engaging in services provided by Evolve Talking Therapies, clients agree to the following terms and conditions.

2. Definitions

For the purpose of these Terms and Conditions, the following definitions apply:

  • “SD” is Sue Dixon of Evolve Talking Therapies, Mill Chase, Nafferton, East Yorkshire YO25 4PE
  • “Client” is the person, body or entity booking a session/programme of sessions with SD.
  • “Session” is the service requested by the Client and provided by SD.

3. Confidentiality

All sessions are confidential. No information will be shared with third parties without your written consent, except in the following circumstances:

  • Where there is a risk of serious harm to yourself or others
  • In cases of disclosure relating to child protection or safeguarding concerns
  • Where required by law or court order
  • Supervision is a standard ethical requirement for therapeutic practice; client issues may be discussed anonymously in supervision to ensure best practice.

4. Appointments and Cancellations

  • Sessions are by appointment only and last approximately 50–60 minutes.
  • A minimum of 48 hours’ notice is required for cancellation or rescheduling. Cancellations made with less than 48 hours’ notice may be charged at the full session rate.
  • Repeated late cancellations or non-attendance may result in the discontinuation of services.
  • If the client fails to attend for a session appointment without prior notice, SD reserves the right to charge an administration fee of £30 to reschedule the appointment.

5. Fees and Payment

  • Fees will be agreed upon at the initial consultation.
  • Full payment is required at the time of booking. Confirmation of booking will not be made until payment for the full cost of session or programme of sessions is received.
  • Any changes to fee structure will be communicated in advance.
  • Refunds are not issued for completed sessions.

6. Nature of Therapy

  • Counselling, coaching and hypnotherapy are collaborative processes. The outcome cannot be guaranteed, but every effort will be made to support your therapeutic goals.
  • Hypnotherapy is not suitable for individuals with certain medical or psychiatric conditions. A full client history will be taken, and suitability will be discussed prior to beginning.
  • Clients must inform the therapist of any changes in physical or mental health.

7. Termination of Therapy

  • You may end therapy at any time. A planned ending is encouraged to allow for a reflective conclusion.
  • Evolve Talking Therapies reserves the right to terminate therapy where there is non-compliance, inappropriate behaviour, or other reasons deemed necessary for the safety and well-being of either party.

8. Records and Data Protection

  • Client records are held securely in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and UK GDPR.
  • Records are kept for a minimum of 5 years following the last session, after which they will be securely destroyed.
  • You have the right to access any personal data held about you. Requests should be made in writing.

9. Professional Memberships and Ethical Practice

Therapy is provided in accordance with the ethical guidelines of relevant professional bodies including the National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS), the National Hypnotherapy Society (NHS), and the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). Evolve Talking Therapies holds appropriate professional insurance.

10. Emergency Support

Evolve Talking Therapies is not an emergency service. In the event of a crisis or mental health emergency, please contact your GP, NHS 111, or emergency services, or go to your nearest Accident & Emergency department. Samaritans are available 24/7 – 116123 (freephone)

11. Agreement

By commencing therapy with Evolve Talking Therapies, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms and Conditions. Any questions or concerns should be raised prior to the first session or at any point during the therapeutic relationship.
